Augustin "Gus" Farmer 

Waterloo Police Department

Sgt. Gus Farmer has been employed with the Waterloo Police Department since February 2003.  During that time, he has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Mounted Patrol Division, Bike Patrol Division and is currently a K9 Handler that is assigned to the Citizen's Response Unit (CRU). Gus was promoted to Sgt. in 2009.  The CRU is a special unit that is designed to be utilized to target problem areas within the city.

Gus and his wife is Maria have four boys that are ages 10,9,7 & 7.  During his time away from work, Sgt. Farmer enjoys auto racing and most outdoor sports. 

Sgt. Farmer is supported by his local association, the Waterloo Police Protective Association, and is actively involved in the operations of the WPPA.  Gus is proud to have the opportunity to serve as a board member for the Iowa Peace Officers Association.  In doing so, feel free to contact Officer Farmer by email at farmera@waterloopolice.com.
